Qualitative Fit Testing can be used on what is defined as tight-fitting respirators, with the exception of full-face masks.  Full face masks cannot be tested because the test hood is not large enough for the mask fitted with a filter. For testing this product it will be necessary to use the Quantitative method. Qualitative Fit Testing can be used not only as a test method to ensure your employees are properly protected; but also as a very effective way of training them in the correct way of fitting a mask. Dust and half masks commonly fail to do the job they are intended to do because of poor fitting and care by the user.

The seal between the face and the edge of the mask is the most common problem area. You will also see users using a mask after having kept it on their heads or hanging around the neck. The test employs a hood to create a small test chamber around the user's head and a test solution. This test solution has a bitter taste. It is the same type of solution that is put on children's toys and fingernails to stop them from chewing them. As the test uses these two consumable parts and is designed to be carried out by the employer; it is a very cost-effective solution for assessing the ability of the selected Respiratory Protective Equipment and the training given to protect the employee.

FITTING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Firmly hold the earplug by the stem just behind the last (largest) flange.
2. Use the opposite hand to reach over the head and pull the ear to fully open the ear canal.
3. Place the first flange of the earplug into the canal and push inward while gently twisting the plug. Insert it as deeply as possible for maximum noise reduction.
4. Check the correct position of the earplug in the ear canal. The largest flange should seal the entrance of the canal.
5. Ensure the correct depth of the earplug in the canal for optimal noise attenuation.
6. Failure to follow all instructions and recommendations and/or not using this product during the exposure period will reduce the nominal protection offered, which may cause serious injuries.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. This product must be used as indicated by LIBUS.
2. It is reusable as long as proper hygiene is maintained between uses.
3. Clean with water and mild soap, rinse thoroughly, dry with a lint-free cloth, and store in the provided individual packaging.
4. Store in a cool, dry place.
5. The protector must be used continuously in environments where its use is mandatory.
6. Inspect the earplugs before each use to ensure they are clean, flexible, and suitable for use.
7. In environments where the cord may get caught, we recommend removing it from the earplug.
8. Certain chemicals may degrade this product.

2. Made from ultra-soft, hypoallergenic polyurethane foam, it provides a comfortable and effective seal.
3. Its conical design and low expansion rate ensure proper insertion into the ear canal.
4. The "detectable" model is only available with a cord (903684).
5. It features a metallic core in the cord and a metal insert in the plug for detection in case of loss.
